Hiway Striping Paint on Coach

While trekking across country, we stopped to wash the coach just before arriving in Albuquerque. When we reentered I-40, I saw a Highway Dept truck up ahead with flashers on. It turned out to be a striping truck and before I noticed that fact, I had managed to track across his newly painted stripe several times. Result is we have a great deal of striping paint on the wheel well fairings, some spots on the sides and other under hanging items. The Magna is Clear-Coated, so what is my best approach for removing the mess?

Sounds like you got yourself in a pickle Oke. I have had good luck using some stuff called "Goof Off" and "Goo Gone". You can get it at Home Depot, usually in a two for one deal. I have used on my toad with no harm to the paint but haven't tried it on clearcoat. I have also used automotive bug and tar remover. Good luck.

I would use a cotton towel soaked in paint thinner. The towel will add some abrasion without scratching and the paint thinner should remove the paint and not harm the clearcoat. Where ever you used the paint thinner just go over it with a quality wax. You would have to use a real strong solvent to harm the clearcoat.
