Closet Problem

We have a 2005 CC with the full rear closet. The closet has a solid round bar to hang clothes on. Problem... Clothes will not stay hung on

the closet rod. Every time the coach hits a dip or bump, all the clothes end up on the floor. Thought this would be a simple problem to

solve, but have discovered that there are no special hangers or rod to

eliminate this problem without tying down each hangar. Being new at this, is this a common problem and any suggestions.

Well that is one problem I have not had though I have had a number of them. Of the one trip we have been able to take since we purchased the Inspire, nothing in our closet ever fell off the hanger even though we went up some mountain roads that were windy, bumpy, and steep up/down.

I saw a "quick tip" on the TV show "RV Today" a few months ago that addressed this problem. I've been trying to remember what they did. If I recall correctly (and I may not) they wrapped the clothes rod with the foam insulation that one would wrap copper water pipe with. The insulation is pre-cut along the edge and has adhesive in place to seal them around the pipe. After the insulation was installed, when the hangers were hung they stayed snug as the foam held them down.

Or ... you could just stuff a pillow on top of the hangers.

Good luck.

RE: Hangers jumping off the bar

We installed a STRETCHABLE CARGO NET net from JC Whitney. The net was easy to attach and does a nice job of keeping the hangers on the rod.
When not in use the net is folded back out of the way to the rear of the closet.

We also used the same kind of net on the upper shelf area in the closet to keep stuff from falling off. The net is loose enough that you can pull it down to get most items off the shelf without having to completely remove the net.

( I don't have any connection with JC Whitney other then that of a happy customer)

CC Model, length and tag or non-tag would help? If your 40' or over and have a tag, something is REALLY wrong.

Try placing the hangers on the rod in a reversed position. So the hanger opening is towards the front, instead of the rear of the coach.

Must be something in the way your are driving. We have an 05 Mag and never lose one hanger.

You just need to cram in more clothes! We've had no problem with our closet, but then again, I have it stuffed! Jan McN
