Ray,

Other than trial and error, is there any way to tell the difference between the two 12V power sources? Thanks.

Tony, yes sir there is.

I'm not at my coach, so am working from memory. The schematics for the Allure show two power wires coming into the unit. One is label "memory" power, as I recall. I believe that the wires on the Allure are numbers, 85 and 88. Sorry, I can't remember which one is which, but the schematic tells you which one.
On the Allure you can slide the back part of the dash out of the way and see the Pioneer unit.

Both of the wires are red and come into the unit via the harness that is located passenger side, right rear of the unit.

The switch wire is the smaller gauge red wire of the two. Both of them are accessed thru the dash and are on the passenger side of the unit. The Allure also has a fuse located in the hallway near the bathroom. It's an automotive fuse and is labeled "radio/nav.camera" or similiar. It feeds the wire that you are looking for. With that fuse pulled there should be no power on the switch wires that you'll be working on.

Physical, the memory wire is the larger red of the two wires and it has an in line fuse installed near the unit. That's the wrong one. If you pull that fuse or break power there, then the unit will need to be reprogrammed when powered back up.
I pulled the fuse, verified no 12v dc then cut thru the smaller wire, spliced a switch into the line, and mounted it underneath the dash panel just out of sight. That way if CCI comes up with a fix the switch can be removed without leaving any visible damage. By the way, use a "flat panel rocker switch" so that there is no toggle stem sticking out to get in the way or break off.

Problem with this set up is, I'm the only one that knows where the switch is located. ..ha, ha...

Just for info, another alternative is to go to the hallway fuse and pull the fuse when you go into storage or want to turn off the unit, but that was just too much trouble to suit me.
