Route 2 around Lake Michigin

Yahoo Message Number: 17200
Wondering if anyone has driven over the top of Lake Michigin on Route
2. We are thinking of driving around the Lake soon, coming thru
Chicago early on a Sunday, and heading up Route 75. Jumping off 75 onto Route 2 and coming around the top and back thru Wis.
I assume it must be passable for large vehicles like semis as it is the only way to go ... wondering about weird stuff like low overheads, etc.

Thanks ...

We have been over the Route 2 in Michigan. It is a good road with plenty of semis and loggers. No surprises. Senic and fun. We hope you enjoy.

Heck! if your going to go over to I75, you'd find Route 23 along Lake Huron very nice. Stop and see the lighthouses. Just pick up RT23 north of Bay City and it is much prettier than an ole interstate.
As for RT2, was on it last year, smooth sailing for RV's. How about Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, or Mackinac Island or watching the big ships in the SOO locks.

John,

We've run that route in the reverse order to your planned trip and it was a pleasant trip, no problems with Route 2.
