Insurance Rates??

Yahoo Message Number: 17344
Just got my renewal from GMAC, increased my Allure insurance 42%. No claims or accidents or late payments, just a re-evaluation for all coaches in Arizona they say. Ha

Looking for a better company, anyone have a favorite Insurance Company?

Jack, I recommend Progressive, now called Drive Insurance. They have an excellent disappearing deductible policy and will insure for replacement the first five model years and purchase price thereafter. I found their premiums to be very competitive. The Miller Agency in Lake Oswego, Oregon sells it and they have alot of RV experience and attend most of the FMCA rallies.

I would sure give them a crack at your coverage. Good Luck.

Thanks Walt,

Just got a good quote from Progressive. Higher PL/PD coverage, Agreed value on Collision/Comp, full glass and $230.00 less than GMAC. Think I will change.

Hi, we are also with Progressive and Miller is the agency out of Oswego. We have been insured with them for the last 7 or 8 years. In California they are less expensive that any other company for our motorhome. Last year, Miller suggested that we take out an Umbrella thru them and then the motorhome insurance dropped way down in cost. By doing the umbrella, we have more coverage and it cost several hundred less than before. If you call Miller they are very helpful and will guide you in the best way for you and your situation. Can you provide the phone number for the Miller group so that I can call them? I am with Foremost and am up for renewal in a few weeks.
I would be interested in comparing.

Thanks,

Thanks guys! My hat is off to you!

I called Miller and for the same coverage I currently have with Foremost I saved nearly $700.00 (not a typo - a drop from $1875.00 to less than $1200.00)a year by going with Progressive. Miller handles both Foremost and Progressive in 45 states so it made no difference to them.

Alert! If you have actual value coverage on your coach you should look at the value your insurance company lists for your coach.
Foremost had my unit valued at nearly $80k more than it is actually worth (or more than they would pay if it were totaled).

They continued at the value I purchased the coach at for the past 4 years never suggesting I may want to adjust the value. Mistakenly, I assumed that it was adjusted automatically like my home and automobiles. I learned it is not and it was my responsibility to reduce the value each year. Since I did not I have been paying hundreds each year more than I should. Of course if you have an "agreed value" on your policy this would not apply.

Hi Joey, thanks for the heads up on the cash value issue. I don't think most people are aware of that. But that is one of the very best things about this group; people add something of value, we all learn, and we look out for each other. The technical knowledge of most of the people in this group is truly astounding. Have a great day and Thanks again! Dale and Candace Hollick 05 Affinity #6370

Try Progressive Insurance. Used them for road service once....no problem. Can't tell you what they would do with a major claim. My rate is $576 per year, for a 95 Intrigue.

I have insured all my vehicles with Progressive for the past 6 years and they have always been great. I have had some major claims, 1 in excess of $10,000.00 and the service was fantastic.
