CC REDMOND FMCA DISPLAY

Took a brief look at the CC display at the FMCA rally.
Very impressed with the new Intrigue 530. Too expensive for me at around $530K MSRP but a beautiful coach. It seems to be filling the slot that the Magna had a couple of years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes some Magna sales in the coming year.
The gap between the 2006 Allure and 2006 Intrigue models has been widened significantly.

IMHO the forty-five foot "Jubilee" floor plan is fabulous.
The 2006 Allure has also been upgraded inside. New ceiling light panels, stacked W/D (some floor plans) and many controls now centralized between bedroom and bathroom and hidden behind cupboard doors to improve appearance. The LCD TV up front may be on some 2005 models but it was the first time I had seen it in the Allure and it looks good.
Our visit to the new models was brief but one negative opinion must be noted. The rear closets for hanging clothes seem to be getting smaller every year!!!! My guess is that after spending $530K for the coach there is no money left over for clothes. In that case, storage would not be a problem. GGG

David,

You need to tell the women there is no room for clothes. We have a neighbor that carries 18 pair of shoes and 10 hats with boxes in her coach.

Dave and Karen...we looked at the new Intrigue, too and were VERY less than impressed with it! Made us realize what a gem we have. The interior spaces (volume) get larger, but at the same time, any storage space is diminished. Yes, the depth of the closets is much less than ours..(ours is 31.5 inches) and the slant over the 'shelf' makes it much less usable. We don't have hose reels taking up space in them, either. The slideout offered a new version of the "headbumper"...looked like men would hit their head on them periodically. No pantry like ours (which I can't give up!), etc...Now that they've "redesigned" the front of the coach, there's no room for the neat cupboard we have in front of the passenger seat that holds TL, cameras, keys, cellphones, etc.
Oh, well...at least there's no "coach envy" anymore...we've still got the best one made for fulltimers. (Suite of Dreams)...guess we'll be buried in it! It's getting more and more like a comfy shoe.
Nevertheless they do seem to be selling the new ones...to each his own.

Jan,

Funny you should mention that...we are starting to feel the same way.

We looked at the new Intrigues in Gold Canyon earlier this year. A four slider. Had them close the slides and got claustrophobic in it.
Just too restrictive for "on road" use while traveling in our opinion.
I'm trying to figure out just what I would change in our coach if we were to buy another...Haven't come up with the answer yet.
