Portable air compressors for tires on 2000 Intrigue

Yahoo Message Number: 869
I would like to monitor and inflate my tires using a portable compressor that could be carried in the coach.

Our Intrigue has the large Toyo 111 tires.
If anyone has such a compressor I would appreciate hearing what type and how efficient it is.

Thanks, David

David, look under the front of the coach on the drivers side. You will find three ports where compressed air is available. You can use one of them for your air, I think it is the outboard one that CC recommends to use, I would have to look at mine. You can run a hose from there to the inside of the compartment in front of the wheel and install your air fitting. There is enough pressure there when the engine is running to inflate your tires.

My '02 Intrigue is only 3 coaches after yours. I traced the plumbing on my coach to insure the inbound fitting of the three drain fittings ahead of the left front storage compartment was the line from the suspension. This should be the dryest air in the system. At this point I purchased 60' of 1/4 "id. air hose, 2 Milton quik couplers, and 2 male/male connectors. If you install one connector into the drain valve, you will be able to drain that line normally, since the moisture will pass thru the connector when you open the valve.
Install the second connector on your tire inflator/pressure tester and install the two quick couplers on each end of the air hose.
When you need to inflate tires, or anything else, simply connect the fittings, open the valve and proceed. When your engine is running you will have 120# of clean dry air. Cost: 35.00. Additional weight: less than 10#. I have also added a blow gun and die grinderwith matching fittings.
Good Luck

Dave, if I remember correctly, CC said not to use the fitting for the suspension for what reason I don't know. I will ask the techs at the rally in Tucson next month.

Don, in the interest of brevity, I did not state that I was instructed by Country Coach to use the inboard fitting and that it was the suspension air supply. I checked to make sure it was in the supply they recommended. I will also readdress this issue in Tucson.
Thank you for calling the discrepancy to my attention.
Happy travels
