Fuel availability

I will be heading from Texarkana, Ar to Junction City for a Sept 20 appointment in service. My current plans are to travel US 82/187 to Amarillo, Tx and I-40 to I-5 in California then up I-5 to Oregon I know fuel is probably going to AVERAGE $ 3.00 per gallon ( higher in California ), but my major concern is running out. Many of you are probably going to the class reunion, so I would appreciate your advice re any areas where there is no fuel to be had. I don't think this will be a problem, but who knows? Thanks for your help.

I cancelled my planned motor home trip to New England in a couple of weeks for the same fears that you have - will fly and rent a car instead.

I'm presently in Albany, OR having just returned from Alaska. Fuel here in Oregon runs from $3.23 to a low of 3.06 in some places. there have been no reports of any shortages and prices seem to be falling.
The guy in the coach next to me came up I-5 from Walnut Creek in CA and indicated the gas prices are about the same as here.

We just did this trip in reverse. We left Oregon last week for San Jose, CA. Left there on Monday, Labor Day evening and are currently between Amarillo and Ft Worth. Oregon was $3.25 ish. Same for California. Less in Arizona, New Mexico and now Texas. No problems finding diesel.

Thanks for the info. It appears I was overly concerned about availability, but I heard some horror stories from a relative near Atlanta, Ga.

Have you considered taking 87/287 out of Amarillo to Raton and I25 North through Colorado to I80 in Wyoming, then I84 in Utah? I have done it many times and the road is great and it will save you at least 300 + miles.

What are you having done at CC?

Thanks, Tom, I'll definitely ake a look at that route. Purpose of the trip is to repair the dreaded electrolysis around both slides. It's not very bad, now, but will get alot worse if left alone.
