Ok ... you win "weirdest problem of the month" ...

I did a search on Google for "powder post beetle" and came up with several potent sounding insecticides. Scary pics of damage they can do.

I wonder if you called Orkin (we have them treat our house every so often) of a similar pest control company if they could suggest something.

What a bummer for you ... suddenly my fogged thermopanes don't seem so serious.

How much damage have they done so far ????

Good luck.

The weirdest problem of the month/year for sure.
The solutions is to tent the coach and fumigate. The only real issue is.. you will need to use 10 times the poison to kill the critters.
That is 10 times the amount used to kill drywood termites.
One thought. The beetles may have come with your coach. The may have been in the raw wood used to build the cabinets.

In my past life as a contractor, I have seen it!!!!

We have a 2003 Magna also and would like to know how you discovered the problem, where it first appeared, and what kind of damage has been done? Also interested in where you have had your coach in your travels, your wood type, and your coach number. Sounds like a serious and unique problem.I am sorry to hear about it and hope there is a not too too complicated and expensive remedy. Have you asked CC if they have heard of the problem and what the solution may be? Good luck! Macke 2003 Magna#6277

Thanks to all who replied to our beetle problem- We have called CC and they have agreed to research problem and get back to us- We contacted a pest control company and they will tent coach for $2,600- We want to make sure that CC can advise as to precautions when tenting. All the information we have gathered indicates beetles were in wood before the cabinets were made. our coach # 6211 magna
