radiater leaks

I have been reading about coaches that have had defective radiators. We have a 06 42 foot Affinity delivered to us in late April 05. I have added 4 gallons since new. We now have about 5000 miles on it. Today I crawled underneath and sure enough it looks like the radiator is weeping coolant. It is not loose clamps or a loose drain valve.
Please share with me any information about the cause of them leaking. Also who made them. I am in Olympia, WA. and do not want to go to CC or JC for repair unless I have to. Any ideas for repair facilities close to me.

Hi John

I believe our radiators are manufactured by JP Radiators (also known as Radiator Specialists) located in Sacramento, CA.
I've spoken to them twice and have asked about the cause of the leaking. To this point they have not determined the cause, but all "damaged" radiators will be returned to them for analysis.
I have heard theories such as 1.) faulty components placed into the radiators on construction 2.) poor quality raw materials 3.) poor or inadequate design to handle the torque and/or power put out by our large engines 4.) simply poor manufacturing practices.
I hope the problem does not lie in the design of the radiators. If that is the case, won't my new radiator fail just as my original one did. I'm hoping it is/was an issue of manufacturing or installation, both of which stand a much better chance of being fixed with the installation of a new unit.
I'm afraid only Country Coach can advise you where to go to have your radiator inspected and/or replaced in your home area. Country Coach will help you so don't despair. Who is your warranty contact person at Country Coach?? Mike Scott?

Best of luck.
