New to groug

Hi all, we are new to this group. We have a 2003 Allure which we purchased new in May 2003. We now have 43,000 miles on it. Had same problem with CAC.
Blown gasket on jake brake. Few little problems with the Hurricane, most have been able to fix my self.
Ours is a 40ft with tag axel. Tires 12R 22.5. Running with 105 lbs in front and 100 in rear tires. Our total wt fully loaded with fuel and water and all our "stuff", as we are full timers, is 35,960. Like to hear what tire pressure others are using. My tires seem to be wearing ok. However, if could lower the pressure a few pounds it would ride a little better, maybe. So far we are very happy with our CC. We have had 2 5th whls and this is our 3rd motorhome, the first CC.

We have all our service and work, when possible, at The Cummins Coach Care in Normal, IL. They are very good.

Welcome to the group, we also have a '03 Allure and are pleased so far. Little problems with the Hurrican and at present a problem with the entry step, have been trying to fix it myself but not being a genius with electronics is a challenge. But am getting there, had to buy a voltmeter and that was a new experience for me! Have fun and visit this group often, its fun and a good way to learn about motor homing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome. Are you from Central IL? We lived there from 1971 to 1982 while I worked for State Farm. Moved to Bloomington originally, then Normal, and the last 6 years in Lexington. We were thinking of passing through this summer but schedules dictated otherwise. I've been back there a few times on business since we left. The last time was in 2003.

Welcome, Ralph and Carol. My Allure is close to yours ( 30811 ) and is also a 40' tag axle model, and my experience in 40,000 miles is to carry 90# front and 80# duals and tag. These weights are a little higher than the chart calls for, but much less and much better ride than the maximums ( 110# ) called for by CC. You are carrying a little more weight than do I, but I think you could easily reduce the pressures you are carrying by 10psi.
By the way, you will get some comments that it's dangerous to carry the lower pressures, but I have had no tire problems, and temps stay well within safe parameters.

Hi we are almost new to this group. We also have an Allure, 470 2005 40' tag. We have the Cat engine and like it. We also initially, since we have never had a coach or a trailer or anything took it to Les Shwab tires and were told the revised recommendations of the tire (Toyo) maufacturer are 120 lbs per tire all the way around. They made sure they were all there and we drove off. We have over 16,000 miles on our coach so far (full time as of May26 05) and it seems fine. But what do we know, we have NO experience with coaches. We are trying to learn fast though. Dick and Michelle Bain

We bought our Magna back in 2001, had about everything happen that has been posted on this site, not anyting new. My wife and I been camping since 1969, and just took a lot of duct tape, wire, food, and time. The best thing on buying the coach, was when the warranty ran out, it was me and it that had to work out things. Nobody to call just fix it. Nice group. Who ever started the group Thanks
