I-10 and I-12 on the Gulf Coast

Thanks to all who responded on the Gulf Coast corridor. If that were the route we would be taking, we would have to camp somewhere around Baton Rouge to Slidell Louisiana. I called two nicer campgrounds in that area to see about availability and they said they were full with Katrina evacuees and didn't know whether they would have openings the first of January. One lady told me "you don't want to stay here" and I took that to mean by the tone of her voice that there were some issues going on at the campground that were not good. Bills comments on the debris and the trucks hauling the debris down the highway, campground issues, and possibly limited service availability made me decide to go the northern route out I-20 to Jackson and then turning south. I hope to see and meet some of you at Ft. Meyers. Thanks again. This forum is a great.

I think you would definitely have to get to Pensacola or further east. If you could plan it out to make to Panama City you can hook up in our driveway.
