Zip Dee Awnings

I don't know whether Zip Dee is still doing the same thing, but in my (older) 99 Intrigue, on the slide room side, there is a long black strip of material with a loop on the end.
This strap serves two purposes: One is to allow you to pull the awning out with the extension strap, the other is the most important purpose: When you have the awning extended with the slide out, you can attach the long black strap to the hook on the side of the coach. It puts tension on the awning and keeps the holes open for drainage.
Any rain water will run through the holes and out. (Hopefully not back under the seals) When the awning is not kept tight, water will accumulate on top of the awning and roof of the slide and you get the whole accumulation of water at one time when closing the slide.

I'll bet your dealer didn?t' even know what it was for, right?
