Pressure Pro Monitoring

Has anyone got any experience with installing PressurePro on their Inspire coaches? Can I just install the sensors directly on the rear inside tire valves or will I need extenders (if they can be used)? It looks like a tight fit. I will not get may PressurePro until the end of the week.

I have a 2003 allure and have had a continuing head ach with "smart tire" and I am very sketptical of this that require you to mess with the value stem. I had to add extensions stems as I could not fill the tires, my advice is to look and good very carefullly. Now I just bought a great guage at Camping Worlld check tires every time I leave and relie on nothing else, no matter what it says.

Yes I put it on my Allure, no problems works great. One thing though I haven't been able to make it work correctly on my tow. I can only seem to get readings on 3 wheels but I think the problem is with my set up. We are traveling in Mexico now so can't get factory help.

Which gauge did you get? I have spent what seems to be a small fortune on gauges and still wind up having to pull the wheel covers on my duals to get a reliable connection on the valve stems. Also, do you have a brand name/model number on a good tire inflator nozzle for the duals?

I'm a Presure Pro Dealler and heip a lot of people get their unit working. You may need a antenia to pick up all the sensors on your toed. Try putting the monitor between the driver's seat and passanger on the dash, this may help. I have a 36ft 93 Affinity and had to get a antenia to pick up all of the toed sensors. When you get back to the states give me a call and I will try to help you. We are in Yuma AZ till about 4-1-06.

I have had Pressure Pro on my '98 Intrigue (40ft) for a year now and I swear by it. I still religiously do a manual check of my tire pressure before I begin a trip and once a week while traveling but so far I have found that the Pressure Pro sensors are +- 3 psi compared to the manual check every time (note even with a $66.00 manual guage I still get +-2 psi when doing repeated checks on the same tire within 1 minute).

Initially, I had probs. with the toad sensors not being read all the time. I improved this a little by putting the receiver on the drivers side window (recommended by PP) but then got rid of the problem altogether by adding the accessory antenna (put under my dining table in middle of coach).

Even with the confidence I have developed in PP I still do a walk around with a tire thumper everytime I stop after more than a couple of hours of driving. Paranoid I guess, but I used to work for Rockwell selling axles, transmissions and brakes to commercial OE's and I have seen what low tire pressure can do. It's not pretty. The PP also allows you to monitor for pressure drops while driving (which is hard to do with a manual guage). Debi stays in pretty good shape and runs a lot but does not like trying to keep up along side the coach on the expressway to check the tires [;-).

Note: I remove the PP sensors when parked for more for a month to extend the battery life.

I have a friend with Smart Tire sensors and they also work well (perhaps even better) but the tire must be removed to install them or to change the battery and then balancing is also necessary since the tire was removed. This, of course can be expensive and I feel that the PP is a better solution and performs the same function. You can also transfer them to different RV and Toads very easily. If a battery runs down in a PP sensor you simply unscrew it and send it back for a replacement for approx. $15.00 from PP.

Hi,

You might also look into another product called Tire Safeguard. They have systems competing with Smarttire and Pressure Pro. We are having their product that does temperature and pressure installed on our Inspire as we speak. We will let you know how it goes. It comes highly recommended from the Silverleaf folks.

I was not able to find the internal sensors (which can include temperature) for the motorhome (seem to be 'low pressure', for toads/trailers, only). Are you sure the ones you are having installed will do temperature also? If so, where did you get them?

I am installing the inside the tire sensors on the coach right now that will do both temperature and pressure. We will be installing them on our toad after we decide if we are upgrading our toad. I talked with Dale at Silverleaf as well as the folks at Tire Safeguard before ordering the unit. I forgot the gentleman's name at TS I spoke with but he stated they had a version similar to Pressure Pro as well as Smartire. My understanding is they have a lot less problems keeping track of the signals from all the wheels. I would suggest chatting with Dale at Silverleaf as well as giving TS a call. I found everyone to be extremely helpful. The system will also interface well with Silerleaf which is one of the mods we are adding. Our coach is in having some stuff added and this will be the last feature added since I want the wheels balanced after the installation. I'll let you know how it goes. I have towed a 24 foot cargo trailer for the past 6 years with SmartTire monitors, but when we decided to tow the Jeep instead I went to the Pressure Pro system.

Purchased mine a couple of weeks ago from Jim Turner (rvsafety@... 541-915-82630)for $590 for the controller and 10 tire monitors. Jim is a Country Coach owner, and used to work as front end and tire man in big truck stops. He gives seminars at rallies on tire and wheel issues at the big rallies. He did all the setup for me, all I did was screw them on.

Done about 1000 miles so far, and they are working great.
