FYI. For those of you in the Palm Springs area be advised that Desert Shores is having an open house on Saturday March 25th. 2006, from 12 to 4.
This is to recognize the opening of their last two phases and they will have models of the Casitas open for inspection.
It is interesting to see what Bob has been working toward for the past several years, a World class motor home resort, and to tour it without any sales pressure.
It is not cheap (nothing is in California), with prices starting at $400K, and you would quickly get to $450K if you add a pool and some interior upgrades, but for that price you do get a 1200 square foot Casita all with views of the man made lakes.
Most of the original developed sites had Prevost bus conversions parked alongside but there was more variety in the later phases including some SOB's. Interestingly, there was a Marathon coach at Bob Lee's personal site!!!!!!!!
This is an interesting project and worth a visit. Candidly, we are not in the market for a home in the desert at that price range, but it is easy to see that for some having a second home in the desert for the winter months might make a lot of sense and it is pretty central for southern California and Arizona.
