opinion - TS vs Allure

Am considering the Travel Supreme ("supreme") in a 38' versus an Allure 37 or 40 and woudl like to get everyone's "unbiased" opinions in terms of quality, reliablility, livablity and driveability.

I haven't spent much time studying Travel Supreme like I have CC and Monaco but I have had the oportunity to walk in a few of their new coaches.

My impression after taking the walk thru is that they are poorly constructed compared to a CC or a Monaco.
The interior walls are flimsy and the finish work is not as nice. These qualities become evident after you get a few miles on a coach and you start to hear all of those creaks, rattles and noises as you drive down the road.

I would advocate taking a tour of the TS factory up in Indiana before you buy. Pay particular attention to the way the chassis and house structures are built.

After you go thru the TS factory, go thru the CC or Monaco factory and notice the difference in the semi-monocoque chassis, the vacu-bond lay up of the coach walls, the rigidity of the interior walls, and the overall finish work.

TS has a lot of nice amenities in their coaches. They can afford to have these amenities because they don't seem to spend as much on the foundation of the coach.

Just my opinion.

BEFORE PURCHASING OUR 2006 ALLURE 42' CC WE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED A TRAVEL SUPREME AND A FORETRAVEL NIMBUS. AS WE HAVE MOTORCYCLES THE TS WAS VERY INTERESTING TO US DUE TO THE REAR CYCLE/GOLF CART/SMALL CAR STORAGE AREA. WE RESEARCHED BOTH VEHICLES ON LINE AND REVIEWED ALL THE SALES BROCHURES. I OBTAINED A RATING CD FROM WWW.RV.ORG AND THE CC, TS AND FORETRAVEL WERE ALL 3 HIGHLY RATED BY THEM. BUT THE REAL PROOF OF THE PUDDING WAS "KICKING THE TIRES". WE LOOKED AT TS AND FORETRAVEL AT THE TAMPA SUPER SHOW IN FEBRUARY AND THEN STOPPED BY LAZYDAYS IN SEFFNER, FL. TO LOOK AT THE CC. WHEN WE WALKED INTO THE CC IT WAS OBVIOUS TO US THAT THE FIT, FINISH AND AMENITIES OF THE CC, ALONG WITH THE PRICE WAS SUPERIOR TO THE TS. THE FORETRAVEL WAS OVERPRICED IN OUR OPIONION PLUS THE RUMBLINGS WE HEARD FROM OTHER FOLKS ABOUT THEIR CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP AND FINANCIAL TROUBLES GAVE US CAUSE FOR CONCERN. WE DECIDED TO BUY THE ALLURE AND HAVE BEEN WELL PLEASED WITH IT SO FAR. EVERYONE WE HAVE TALKED TO AT CC HAS IMPRESSED US WITH THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF THE COACH AND THEIR WILLINGNESS TO HELP.
IN ANY CASE GOOD LUCK IN YOUR RV HUNTING. NO MATTER WHAT YOU BUY WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ON THE ROAD SOMEDAY.

IMHO you are talking apples and oranges. TS isnt comparable to CC in any way (except they both have a diesel engine). Plus you will love our CC family.

I really think you are in the wrong BB if you think someone will say a TS is equal to a CC. I consider myself pretty objective and I look at all the coaches at the FMCA rallys. After looking at 90% of what is available, the one I would replace my CC with would not be a Travel Supreme, it just doesn't "have it".

Becareful, My neighbors have a 2000 38' TS and the windshields have came out while driving, numerous electrical problems including coaxial wiring to TV's, No manuals were produced for that year. Exterior stickers are faded beyond repair making the Coach look older then it is. No labeling on all the wiring.
Slide problems for a year.

This is like asking if a travel trailer is as good as a motorhome. TS makes trailers, CC makes motorcoaches.
I don't own a TS or an Allure but TS has only been building moatorcoaches for a few years and in this business it's tough to get it right after 20 years so I would go with the Allure. But I will admit that the TS looks great for the money. Compare whats under the floor not what you see inside.

What about the rust problem that CC seems to be having on their wall studs? A friend of mine does body repair on CC's and has sent pixs and a letter to CC about the rust problem, their reply-cover it up and repaint the wall. My friend said the frame was so rusted it looked as though it had been at the bottom of the ocean, flaking etc: I believe TS wall studs are aluminum

This is the first I've heard about rust problems on wall studs. Are you possibly referring to the well-discussed electrolysis problem? Pls elaborate.

I am biased, but if you'll look at the cabinet construction, the drawer pulls, the slide rails, the faucets, the stiching on the upholstery, the wire dressing methods, etc I believe you will start to see adifference, look at the exterior paint job from an oblique angle and you can see the difference in paint and fibre glass work, check seams and stiching, also where walls and partitions come together, look and feel the wood work and how it was sanded and finished, loo, k for unfinished edges, check windows for fit, all these things will proove CC a better product.

You will hear stories about every brand of coach on the market. Most are isolated incidents or someone who has an ax to grind. If you want aluminum then buy a TS they are lighter and not as strong as CC. The real test for TS will be to see if they are still around when diesel is $3 a gallon. CC is still doing well in the current downturn, other companies are not.
