Heads up on your 2001 350 HP Cummins

I have a 2001 Intrigue with a 350 Cummins ISC diesel. I took it to Cummins Northwest at Colberg, OR, for annual servicing. They noticed that my main air compressor was making excessive noise and was probably close to failure. They mentioned Cummins had a recall on that unit and that they would replace it without cost to me. I questioned the recall as I keep up on those things and I had not heard of it. They said it was not publically issued but whenever one of these comes if for servicing, they'll replace it if necessary at their cost.

P.S. I was very pleased with Cummins Coach Care at Colberg and I'll be using them again for complete coach servicing.

There was an official recall about 2.5 yrs ago.
It was on a ISC330. These were later upgraded to 350 with a small step increase in the fuel/demand table.

Yes - the pump had the recall fix installed (30593). CCI can give you the details.

Your best bet on the compressor recall issue is to deal direct with an authorized Cummins service center. They will have access via computer to the history of your particular engine and it only takes a few key strokes to determine whether your particular engine was involved.

CC does not keep records of Cummins recalls.
In fact, CC keeps records of the portion of the house that they build only. They may be aware of other recalls and technicians may pass on this information from time to time but don't rely on them for 100% answers on recalls.
This is why it is important to fill out all those little registration cards that come with a new coach.
If you have a used unit it is possible the prior owner did not fill out the cards or even if they did the OEM may not have an accurate address for sending out recall notices.
As I wrote at the beginning, the best bet on the Cummins engine is to work with an accredited service center.
Be aware also that some items are not considered safety issues (the compressor was) so recalls may not be sent out. I believe the stripped bolts on the rocker cover was one of these. We heard about the issue on this site, and then when the bedroom engine cover was removed for another problem (fan controller and sensors) checked the bolts and sure enough we had a problem which Cummins service fixed the next day at no charge.
Just as a reference, our issues were with a 2000 Intrigue, # 11062 and were all resolved by Cummins NW at no cost and very efficiently. Good people, good service center.
