CC group participation

Yahoo Message Number: 25959
I have a fiend who is a part of this group, Ned from Florida. The way I understand it he can read the post that are on the forum, but can't respond. It says he's bouncing back. He has checked all the info that yahoo puts on screen and it is basically telling him he needs to pay yahoo to join their web service. Does he need to do this? Yahoo is my mail server via AT&T and I know I don't pay extra, but I'm in a different situation. Can anyone out there help him solve this problem. He gets your threads, but just can't respond. I know Ned would appreciate any help.

Yahoo is a free service for me. I recall I had to sign up for it, provide a user name and password, etc. Is it possible your friend believes that if he signs up for Yahoo and yahoo groups that he will be charged for it?

Periodically Yahoo checks to see if addresses are still valid and it is a real pain. Sometimes you have to unsubscribe and resubscribe to get things working again. Sometimes yahoo sends a notification and by responding they know the address is valad, and sometimes they don't. So if the moderator or owner of the group can't get it cleared up, your friend may have to unsubscribe and get back on.
