Sharp Aquous, KVH and Dish HD/DVR

We see from the extensive messaging on this subject that the Sharp/satellite/KVH system can be problematic. Currently, we have a JVC CRT-type TV, an updated KVH (in 12/2005) from SA to L3 (Direct and Dish capable), and Dish non-HD and their DVR.
We have purchased the Sharp 32-inch LCD HDTV and are getting ready to have it installed. We still need to get the Dish HD DVR.
What can we do to make the installation work well from the beginning? Does anyone know whether the Dish HD DVR is larger than the non-HD DVR? Does anyone know whether we need to further update the KVH system? Is there anything else to be concerned with?
