Extended Warranty

Yahoo Message Number: 87461
Hello Friends,

Quick question about Warranty Groups. I currently have Easy Care and my policy is about to expire. I am not that satisfied with Easy Care so it would certainly be easy to switch. My coach is a 2007 with 80,000 miles so I really like having the protection. I have a very reasonable quote from ACC Warranty but do not know anything about them.
Does anyone have experience with ACC Warranty? Does anyone have a recommendation for any other warranty company?
FYI tried to go through Good Sam and they will not quote extended warranty for a vehicle with 80,000 miles.

Thanks for the responses and safe travels to all this summer.

We have had XTRA Ride out of Minn for two years, several claims all handled quickly and paid with no argument, total claims paid in excess of prem paid so far with two years to go on policy. Took Plat, package based of recomemdation of RV repair shop I use, the shop does not sell plans but has lots of experence dealing with a number of companies and have had best results with XTRA Phil Baker 03 Intrigue 11667

I have Good Sam Expended Service Plan and the replaced my Splendide W/D combo. The control module that controls the direction and speed of the drum burned up and and is no longer available through Westland Sales. They are the only distributor for Splendide in this country. So any of you with the Splendide Model 2000 washer/dryer here is a heads up. When that board goes, you'll be buying a new w/d. But as for the extended servie plans this is the first time in 3.5 years that I had a need for it and Good Sam came through. Some will say to just put the money that would have normally been paid to the warrenty company and shove it under your mattress so when something does break you have the $$$ and not have to argue with someone to get it fixed. Its a crapshoot, a roll of the dice. My wife and I live fulltime in our CC and on a very limited budget, The monthly charge for the service plan we can afford, the cost of a big ticket item or major repair is a different story.

We purchased thru Wholesale Warranties and have never had a issue. They covered things exactly as they claimed they would. Very straight group to work with.

I second what Don had to say. Any claim I had over $200 (4) was denied for some obscure reason & he then canceled the contract with no payment for unused portion.

When my 2000 goes I will look into LG which makes one that should fit.

I have had two rather large claims with Easy Care and was very satisfied with their response and settlement.

Hi Dale,

We purchased a 01 Magna last October. We purchased the extended warranty because as you can see by this forum things can be perfectly fine one day, and then, they are not. We have had coaches for over 30 years and know this all too well. What we did was ask our local repair facilities that do work on high end coaches. Is there any extended warranty company that you like or don't like. Several of them couldn't say enough nice things about the company we went with, and yes the price was negotiated a bit. So my advice is to ask the guys that actually collect from these companies and see which ones they recommend, if any.

We purchased an Easy Care Policy from Eric Olstrom in Tucson for about $3000 less than we were quoted by Holland Motors for the same policy. So price shop.

Vickie... which company did you select? When we bought our coach last year it came with 2 years balance on the Easycare warranty and we have had pretty good luck with them so far on several different issues, but you have to be careful with who is doing the repairs. One outfit who shall remain nameless charged me *double* what Easycare's allowance on the repair was with a couple different items. I call that gouging and would never have my coach repaired there again.
By comparison my coach also has the balance of the 5 year Caterpillar warranty on it and I cannot say enough good things about the folks at Caterpillar. We have had a couple warranty items repaired by a couple diffferent Cat shops and all we had to pay was the deductible. I LOVE Caterpillar. Pity they stopped making on-the-road powerplants.
As a footnote, when my factory warranty expired on my Toad, a Chevy Suburban, I purchased a 4 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty from National Warranty Co. in Eugene Oregon. I did what you did and asked ny local repair shops and they unanimously recommended National. My warranty covers everything at the chevy dealer... and there is ZERO dedectible. I had the ECM replaced yesterday at Kendall Chev in Eugene and it did not cost me a dime. National Warranty Co isas good as it gets for cars... pity they don't do Motorhomes also.

We purchased US Warranty Co. I believe we have used it once and there were no issues with them. Yes, I do believe there are some repair facilities that will charge more for work covered under a warranty hoping you will pick up the "overcharge" you do have to be careful.
