Engine Shut Down

Yahoo Message Number: 2591
My coach is a 95 Magna Cummings 300. It is shutting down with a 20 to 25 second warning delay. I thought the problem was the low coolant sender so I grounded the sensor wire and the engine still shuts down. I am now considering low oil pressure sender. Any ideas??? This is an intermittant problem and does not happen every time. John Borsetti

Hi John,

This issue has been delt with in previous messages - see no. 2155 - location of engine transducers. There are 2 oil pressure switches - one for strapping the battery banks together for charging by the alternator and one used by the Cummins ECM(this one shuts the engine down). Read the engine codes - the Cummins manual has the details for doing this.
