Hi to the Group. My name is Craig and I work for Rixens, the people that handle the Hurricane heating unit. I would like to make my e- mail information available to the group so that, in addition to posting on the board, you can contact me directly with any questions you might have. I want to hear it all, problems, concerns, operational questions, solutions and even praise. I will monitor the board periodically, but feel free to contact me at craig.garrison@.... You can use our website, www.rixens.com to check for tech and operational tips. Our newest tech manual is available there, in PDF format. Let me hear from you!

Thank you Craig. I believe this to be a huge proactive step for a manufacturer to take and, I am sure, it will be welcomed by all users of this board. My personal hope is that this bold and generous action will be copied by other manufacturers to engender a community atmosphere from which everyone will benefit.

Even if the input from users is simply used to improve the FAQ page on the manufacturer web site, it will be an enormous boon. I, for one, feel less isolated as a result of this offer and heartily congratulate both Craig and Hurricane for this innovative service. Other manufacturers take note!

I also want to thank you, Craig, for offer your help and contact number(s) to the group.
We have had an odor problem associated with your Hurricane which apparently has to do the hoses, etc. that connect the unit. CC has done an excellent job in replacing hoses and most of the problem has been solved. The odor is a sweet smell - which permeates down the hallway in our 2002 Evening Star - only when we are traveling and is thought to be coming from a heat vent located in the hall immediately beneath the shower.
After extensive work by CC about 95% of the odor is gone. We're going to give a little more time to be sure the odor does not return, and if it does we will certainly contact you.

Thanks again.

Tom;

Yes, this has been a problem with some of the coaches and Country Coach has done an admirable job in correcting the situation. I know that replacing the hoses has done the trick in the majority of coaches (fairly few, to my knowledge) that had the problem. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Craig,

We checked out the work that was done by Jim @ Rixens on Thur and Fri. The overflow tank was still empty after just running it for a night, and at first we still heard the high pitched squeal, later in the evening the squeal stopped. There was fluid on the floor of the compartment, but even more worrisome, there was a lot of burned and dried fluid on the top. Much more than when we brought it in. Jim had originally thought they pinched the neck on the expansion tank, and he thought it was fixed. Based on my observation, I would say there is still a problem.
Also, as Jim noticed the furnace cycles frequently, he thought a hose might be kinked somewhere in the MH. All the other specs checked out well. We had an appointment at Guaranty so if you have any ideas or suggestions for them it is in Junction City this week for them to try and fix. Maybe it just needs a new unit? Thanks for your help and any suggestions Joe Frazier

Today I gave CC Warranty and Tech a heads-up about your coach. I wold like you to keep me informed of where the coach is and what is going on. I have a test sheet that Jim did on the coach that might be of some ue to the warranty people. If it becomes necessary, we can go to the coach, at the very least, we can provide tech support as they explore the circulation problems. Please ekkp me in the loop.

Hi Craig,

No problem. Right now they sent away for the expansion tank lid and neck, and they are waiting for that part. My service Rep is James Talbert. After they get the new parts installed they will look for the kinked fuel line.
Thanks for keeping on top of this.
