Winterizing Revisited!

OK, the book says to drain "everything", then use compressed air to blow out the water lines. Does anyone use the auxilliary on-board compressor for this??? If so, does it work well, and are there any pertinent details??

Yes sir, I have used that, however, remember that the coach air compressor can have up to 125lbs of air pressure, much too much for the water system. So, suggest that you open at least one spigot before you put air to the water system. Or suggest that you only put air hose on the water system for short burst, then use a tire gauge to determine how much air is in the water system.(Suggest that you limit it to about 35lbs. Then you can go inside and drain as many lines as you have air pressure. Then go back outside, put another burst of air into the system and back inside to drain others, until you finish. Don't forget to flush toilet. Also, this will drain water filter also, except some left over water in filter element.

An alternative is to buy one of the small air compressors (a/c or d/c). They usually have a connection that you can clamp onto the air input valve to the water system. Plus it takes them a fairly long time to build up lots of pressure. So, you can now connect the compressor to the water system, leave it connected and running, go inside the coach and open one spigot at the time and drain it, then close the spigots and let air build up again, then drain another spigot, etc. Hope this helps....

Another alternative is to go to warm weather and not worry about it...huh?
