Brake Air Line - Chewed!

Yahoo Message Number: 50701
Night before last, our dog created a ruckus at 3:30 am in the garage where she sleeps. We looked outside and found a neighbor's dog in the vicinity of the motorhome. Not really being coherent at that time of the night, we knew that our dog and the other dog were both barking, and the house air conditioner was running - it sits just beside the garage.
Although we did hear a possible "extra" hissing sound, we assigned it to the a/c unit, chased off the offending dog, and went back to bed.
Yesterday, as a matter of routine, we started the engine on the coach since we haven't traveled for about 6 weeks. Noticed that the air pressure was, like, not there, and there was a previously unseen warning light on the dash saying "Front". After revving the engine a bit, the air pressure came up somewhat, but nowhere near normal. Shut off the engine and listened to a loud "hiss" under the front end.
Turns out, there is a brake air hose - about 2 feet long - which runs crossways just in front of the front axle, basically from a cannister to other fittings.
This dog had apparently chased a critter (cat, raccoon, or whatever) under the coach and in trying to "snap" at the animal, managed to bite into the air line.
It was a relatively easy fix (after getting enough air pressure to release the brakes - and pull up onto a couple of 2 x 10's). Our local GMC/Volvo truck repair facility made a new hose with fittings in just a few minutes.
But - the bottom line is - don't wait until the last minute to check out your coach, and always - check the air pressure!!
Any suggestions about keeping critters away from a coach (which is parked essentially in the woods) would be appreciated!
