Hardwood floor

My wife and I are thinking of replacing the carpeting in the front of our Intrigue with wood flooring. Has anyone out there done that? What would one expect it to cost, and how long to do? And is there someone in Oregon that you would recommend?

We haven't done this but some friends did. They used Carrier & Sons in Eugene and are very happy with the result.

We are having all of our coach floors re-done in Junction City. We are installing new carpet and replacing the front tile with an engineered floor system.
The installer is Dave Rutherford

541-359-8489. So far he has been very good to work with. I will report on the results in a few weeks. Countryside and Carrier also do this type of work as well as Oregon Motor Coach, no doubt.

Hi We had our Intrigue done this summer at Lassen RV in Albany. They did a very good job in 2.5 days. We really like it we bought the Cherry wood in Medford OR and Lassen charged a hourly rate Lee Ramage 11784 2004 Intrigue

As general question to all that have replaced their carpet with tile or wood: How has the change affected the sonic qualities of the space? Do you hear more engine noise, more random road noise, has it made hearing voices more difficult between driver and navigator while traveling, has it diminished the ability to discern voices over the sound system while watching movies, etc? If you travel in cooler climates do you have more difficulties keeping the space comfortable?

When you installed wood floors did you choose the floating type or is it permanently attached with adhesives or nailed? Does anyone regret the change and why? Thanks.

I can't answer the questions yet about sonic effect but I can tell you that we are getting a floating floor with foam backed material which I think will be better insulated than the tile. I expect that the composite material with foam backing will be better for sound as well and it should be warmer than tile but as I said, I don`t know any of that from experience yet. We will have less carpet when done which could be a sound issue but no worse than any coach with full tile option. Are these full tile coaches worse than those with part tile and part carpet. I don`t know. I know for sure that we will weigh less when the work is done (+/- 300 lobs).

ygrps-yiv-182146783 v0003a* {} ygrps-yiv-182146783 v0003a* { } We stopped in Houston for an estimate to put in a hard wood floor. We have a 2003 Intrigue...they were only going to replace the carpet as we have tile in front of sink...and same tile going into bathroom area. So we were talking a relatively small area...from the front door...down to couch and under table on the other side. They were also going to put the wood on the slide...... Estimate was 4,500.00 just for labor. Paul Eno

Of course you and I have the $4,500. However, I would let them go out of business and starve before I would pay that much.
