Saxon CB Radio

We had a problem receiving on our Saxon CB. The 1st repairman badmouthed it and recommended buying another new unit. Cynical as I am, I decided to try another repairman.
We went to Appollo Comm. in Glendale, Az. He compressed the radio, back to front, with hand pressure...lo and behold reception came alive. He commented that this is a common problem with this unit.
They added some solder to the contact points of the circuit board + tweeked it up, now getting good comm.....cost : $ 60.00.

The biggest complaint I have of the Saxon radio is the short cord. I can't keep the radio on my lap when convoying, and hate to keep reaching over to the hanger. Has anyone tried to get a longer cord? Walt Rothermel
