Make sure your door is in fact making contact with the door jamb switch if the step does not like to close. Go under the step and make sure the ground wires have a good bond. Clean up the ground points with some sandpaper and add a starwasher where the connector grounds.
Unplug the Molex connector that goes from the motor to the coach wiring and make sure the pins and sockets are clean. Spray the interior of the connector with WD-40 and put together. You can apply GE silicone over your ground screws when you are done, that will slow down anymore corrosion. Stainless steel hardware works well also.
Sounds like you have a "lazy" transfer switch in your inverter. Pull the inverter out, and tell the factory you have a defective transfer switch and you want it changed out.
