Norcold 1200 - tuning and fire prevention

Yahoo Message Number: 61673
Our 1200 is not in the recall range. Does not really give me a warm and fuzzy feeling that it is not, after reading of so many fires from these units - many not in the recall range.
I've done three things, to counter this, before our yearly 'big trip' in September.
1) Under Tuning - Added the inside fan to help circulation, the little blue job available of off Ebay.
2) Under Tuning & Prevention - Added a 56CFM 12V fan behind the outside access panel. I set this unit to run when the RV is running. Pointed up at an angle to shove air up pass the coils, and towards the roof vent (non slide fridge, so I do have the roof vent).
3) Under Prevention - Ordered the SS30 extinquisher, set to go off at 165 degrees. (Has not come yet, and not clear if I'll be able to slide it in thru the small spaces available thru thru the access panel. We'll see when it comes.

Did not count it my list, but have added a battery smoke detector behind the RV as well - as much early warning as possible, thank you.
Longer range, I'm considering the new (vs rebuilt/refabbed) full cooling unit replacement. Built by the Amish, and supposed to take care of the causes of most fires. About $1k to do this, so about 1/4 - 1/3 the cost of a all new unit. Doubt I'll make a decision for several months on this, as I'm considering other options as well.
Looking forward to our trip, to see how the two new fans help in keeping cooling, and how hard the unit has to work to keep things cool.

Best to all,
Smitty
