Dryer Part # Air Conditioning Charge specs? Reply #25 – November 10, 2010, 02:51:14 pm Yahoo Message Number: 65296I developed a leak in the hose fitting that goes into my A/C compressor. I'm supposed to take the coach in tomorrow to have the fitting changed, so I called the guy to confirm. He told me that after the system has a major leak and is "empty", in order to recharge that system properly, I should change out my dryer as they normally do this to insure that there is no residual water in the system. Assuming that he is correct, I can't find any vendor or part ID #s to get a new part..1. The only thing that I could find is a drawing with a CC Part #15460, Vendor # 054-00022 for the Receiver Dryer. Does anyone have more info on this part? 2. Has anyone had experience with the mechanic's requirement to change out the dryer? The dryer looks fine, no bulges, no leaks apparent. Not sure if I really need it or is it a "nice to have" versus a requirement??Thanks, Den 2001 42' Affinity-Bed&Breakfast # 5972. Quote Selected

Reply #26 – November 10, 2010, 03:11:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 65297If your system leaked all the gas, then it probably has absorbed some moisture and changing the filter/drier is a prudent move. They are cheap, so why not? Moisture in the system can totally destroy it in short order. This is the model my coach uses:http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/cgi-bin/ryderfp/products/srm/oid/47427/pn/AC-Drier-10-X-3-3-8-M-X-3-8-M/erm/product_detail.jspDave2000 Allure #30444 Quote Selected

Reply #29 – November 10, 2010, 03:27:24 pm Yahoo Message Number: 65300DenThe dryer is probably Bendix but there were several versions used by Country Coach. If you crawl under the coach you can get the date and model numbers for your coach off of the Dryer unit. Call Bendix with that information and they will give you more information than you want to know. One thing that will save money is going for the Bendix remanufactured desiccant filter just as good as the new one per Bendix Techs.Dan 2006 Allure 31348 Quote Selected

Reply #31 – November 10, 2010, 03:53:58 pm Yahoo Message Number: 65302Forget the Ryder 7166, it has a metric fitting for the trinary switch and will not work. Yours has an R12 switch fitting, 7/16x20 thread. My apologies for the misinformation. Yours is apparently different than mine. Why not let the repair guy work this out? Is he asking an outrageous price for the dryer? Dave2000 Allure #30444 Quote Selected
Re: Dryer Part # Air Conditioning Charge specs? Reply #32 – November 10, 2010, 04:05:33 pm Yahoo Message Number: 65304This is a generally accepted shop practice. Anytime the system is "opened" the receiver-dryer should be changed. It has desiccant in it and after it absorbs water it should be changed. The shop should be able to match the receiver dryer, they are usually common items.Mikee Quote Selected
