Another engine Question

While under the coach I noticed that there was a threaded hole just behind the started in what's probably the bell housing. It's dry and dirty and I haven't noticed it before, it's obviously been "open" for quite a while. Looks like it's for a threaded plug. Anyone know what this is?

It is supposed to be open, It is only plugged in wet clutch applications. You have a dry clutch.
