Driver & Passenger Seat Removal

We have tile entry, tile galley, and carpeted living room. In preparation for replacing the carpet in our living room with wood, I am looking into removing the driver and passenger seats to provide access to the areas around those seats. My choices seem to be to (a) remove the entire seat including the mounting pedestal or (b) remove the seat from the pedestal. There are 4 large carriage bolts holding each pedestal in place and the nuts for these carriage bolts are accessible in the top of the wheel wells. Assuming I can undo those bolts the whole seat and pedestal would come out. Otherwise I have to figure out which nuts and bolts to undo to release the seat from the pedestal (and there seems to be a lot of nuts to choose from). Also there is the matter of electrical disconnects for the power seats.
I'm looking for comments from those who have experience with removing and reinstalling these seats.

The four big bolts (mine actually has five) are what I did. They are in captive nuts welded to the chassis so no worries about losing the nut. A few were a little rusty so I'd shoot some penetrating oil on them the day before I started. I also cleaned them up well with a wire brush before putting them back in. The only scary part is what you'd be faced with if you messed up the threads in the nut!

I have not removed the pedestal but have removed the seats by removing four bolts and nuts from the slider frame. Not difficult to find these on top of the pedestal slide rails.
Remember to disconnect the electric connections for the chair adjustments before moving the seat itself.

Hi Steve Fellow Boomer Ken, On our Allure I moved back the passenger seat back one hole lengh to allow guests from hitting their head on the TV Headbanger! I removed the seat base off the pedistal and laid it on the couch for now. Using an Impact wrench and a 3/4 deep socket removed the pedistal from the floor and redrilled two new 1/2 inch holes to the rear of coach. Re-bolt the pedistal and the seat reconnected the power wires! thats it. Used Silicone sealer to plug old holes in fender well. Couch can be removed a moved to rear a couple of inchs, Mega complaments from our friends! ken 99 Allure 30356 Using a wood floor I would use steel bushings or large steel washers for metel to metel bonding.
