Slide will not go out

I have a 2005 Inspire. I have not had a problem with my slides for five years. Currently the bedroom slide on the passenger slide will come in and out about ten times and the fuse burns out. I replace the fuse and it works fine for a while. Anybody have any ideas how I trace down the short or what ever it is that is causing the problem. ?

On my coach, all the slides have circuit breakers, not fuses.
If you have a fuse you might try putting in a c/b, which will fit in the same slot. After operating the slide, feel the c/b and it should be cool to the touch. If all your slides have fuses maybe CC switched to fuses, and the problem is something else. I had to switch slots for one of my c/bs because of a cold solder in the bussman fuse box.

You didn't say which fuse blew. Our 2006 Inspire has self resetting blade fuses in the hallway compartment and a combination of self resetting blade fuses and slow blow glass tube fuses near the motor housing.that protect the slide motor. A former CC employee told me you not only need the right amp fuse but the right kind to make everything work consistently. Until then I 'd never heard of slow blow or self resetting fuses. Check to see if you have the right type of fuses.

Had the same problem with the controller fuse by each motor.
You must use slow blow fuses.

Stan,

I agree on the circuit breakers, much more logical choice for that kind of circuit. Check the other slide fuses. I have found two factory misplaced fuses in my coach, one was swapped versus an adjacent fuse, the other was the wrong amperage.
There should also be a chart shwoing which type and amp rating fues is supposed to be at each position. That should be correct. If the installed fuses are different they are probably wrong.
