Winegard LP1000 Satellite

If there is a lot of dew in the morning or when it rains, the water pools on my satellite LP 1000 low profile dome, resulting in no reception until I go up on the roof and dry it off. Does any one have any suggestions to fix it.

Thanks,

All domes suffer when wet, due or frost are really bad. No real cure, except a pop up style dish that is at least 18 inches, and even then on occasion heavy rain can keep them from working. Domes, us such a small reflector to keep them looking good, and all have issues when wet, or even heavy black clouds can prevent a signal some times.
Best bet, move to desert where it seldome rains, but when it does, same problem..

Dan,

Kingdome makes this spray called "Dome Magic". It really helps and lasts many months.

In Quartzsite today, but going to Phoenix area for a week, then Indio for a week, then back to Q for maybe a couple. Then mostlikely back to Indio for the remainder season.

My opinion in dryest environment in the desert, Well, no place is totally dry, but much less rain than others. When it does rain, it comes fast and furious, and can cause flash floods. Over all best all around winter weather is in the Palm Springs Valley area. Lots of blue sky, can have wet times, but not too bad over all.
Palm Springs had 2 inches of rain about a week back, all came in two days. Floods were everywhere, but then nice again. Cochella Valley is my vote for best all around winter weather.

Wikipedia: "According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Yuma is the sunniest place on earth. Of the possible 4,456 hours of daylight each year, the sun shines in Yuma for roughly 4,050 hours, or about 93% of the time. The near perfect flying weather year round attracts military interest in training their pilots here. On average Yuma receives about 3 inches of rain annually."
From me: Wonderful place to be in the winter; but get out come May!!! Maybe once a winter enough rain to mess up the dome reception.
