Touchy shower valve?

Hi all, here is the problem. I have an 2001 Affinity B&B 42 and the Alsons brand shower mixer / on-off valve doesn't seem quite right. It is a pull on and push off type, with a turn left for hot and turn right for cold operation. The valve is very easy to operate, no grinding or sticking, but the temperature and pressure of the water seems to constantly change. The slightest touch of the valve grossly changes the water temperature and the pressure seems to change by itself. This happens while using either the water pump or city water hook up. Here is the scenario: Adjusted the shower for a perfect temperature and step in. A minute later the water pressure drops for a second, and then returns, only now the water temperature is either cool or scalding. A minute later the scene plays out again. The only time the water pressure and temperature seem to stabilize is if the water temperature is set quite (uncomfortable) high. So, is it the Alsons valve? I have no literature on it at all. Somr other problem, or am I just off my meds again?

I recently had a variation of the same problem. Our coaches are close enough that the info below will probably apply. My problem wasn't in the Alson's equipment but rather in the Moen rough-in valve. If you take off the handle on the shower water control and pull the large trim piece you should have full access to the rough-in valve.
Google Moen or Moen rough-in valve. Some of their literature will have a trouble shooting number at the bottom of the page. The valves are warranteed to the original owners and parts will be free. If you end up paying for the parts, shop the internet suppliers as the prices vary widely for the same part.
My problem was the balancing spool which is that 1" brass screw head to the right of the stem. I also replaced the stem because it was easy and parts were readily available but that wasn't my problem. The balancing spool has an internal part that has to be free to move. If you take the spool out and it doesn't rattle, soak it in white vinegar or CLR and see if you can free it up. It may be that easy.
The Moen folks seemed to have a good handle on getting to the source of the problem. Worth the call.

I just had contact with Alsons for a part (the plastic female part that allows the hand component to mount on the pin), and found them to be very accommodating. I Googled the company and went through customer service. I don't know about the valve problem, but they are helpful.
