Advise about to much oil added to allure

We just had our 2008 allure with cumming motor serviced here in Tucson. Drove it 10 miles without problems to the RV park. Fooling around, I just checked the oil, coach has been sitting 5 days. Oil level is about 1" above hot full mark. Coach is cold, is it OK to drive, will the extra oil just blow out? Advice needed?

Start the engine let it idle for a few minutes, shut off and then check the oil. Will be on the full mark are a little under. When an engine sets for 5 days all the oil drains into the pan and can give a false reading. It is possible it is overfilled. Do the above and if it is still overfull, take it back and let them know.

Has this ever happened before? Are you sure the oil level is incorrect. It's quite likely the oil level is correct and the dip stick is calibrated incorrectly. The mechanic dials in how much the motor requires and the dispenser puts in exactly that amount. It's rarely wrong. I went thru this with my Allure for a couple of changes until I had them let me watch the correct amount of oil added and then I had them recalibrate the dip stick.

When that happened to me it was from diesel leaking into the oil pan from the injection pump. Start the engine and let it warm up and see if your =il pressure drops below 35 lbs. If it does its a sign of diesel entering the oil. But it would be best to go back to Cummins and have them analyze the oil, to see if there is an issue? TwI 2004 Intrigue 11731

Suggest a Oil Sample, Ken Retired Cat Tech. Sounds like fuel or the Tech added too much oil. Been there done that to bad Cummins does not have weep holes like Cat does but on older Engines. BTW took our Allure to Laughlin for a couple of weeks after sitting four months in Yuma and Ran great and had 40 mph gusts going to Yuma felt like our 330 got a hp boost! Felt like a c-15 cat in our old yard truck! Please keep us posted! Ken 99 Allure 30356.
