Slide Hydraulic System - leaking

My coach is currently in the shop for repairs and I am being told the repairs should take around 7 hours, but the extended service warranty company seems to think it should only take 2 hours. Obliviously, I will be on the hook for the difference. My coach is a 2005 Magna, 42' with 4 slides.
Here is the problem. The front slide on the passenger side has a hydraulic actuator, of some sort, that has started leaking. It sits in front of the slide and above the fuel tank. The unit is a cylinder about 2 to 3 inches in diameter and around 3 feet in length. It has a number of hydraulic hoses attached to it.
My question is 1) Has anyone else had this problem and if so, )2 Do you recall how long it took to remove and replace it.
Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated. ? Gary in Dallas

Who is doing the work for you here in Dallas ? A good service company will negotiate with the extended warranty company for more hours. I can suggest a company good at negotiating.

This is most likely an HWH product. HWH is located in Moscow, Iowa, and they have pretty good customer service. You could call and talk to them and ask them what they think in terms of the repairs. Try 800-321-3494. I think that's their phone number.

Walt, Buddy Gregg is doing the repair and claim they have tried to get the extended warrenty company to give more hours .. to no avail.

I have work done at Buddy Greggs and I didn't think they ever negotiated with my warranty company. I ended paying for a lot more even though they said they had contacted my extended warranty. I called the extended warranty after the work was done and explained I was disappointed they did not cover more of my repairs. They claimed they were never asked for more time for the repairs I had done on my slides and awnings.
Personally I will never use Buddy Greggs again and would certainly never recommend them.

Sounds like the sync cylinder and I can't believe it would take that long. Where is it leaking from a fitting or from the ends?

I did not get any help from Buddy Gregg with my extended warranty company a couple years back. I now use Eddie Braley with National Indoor RV Centers in Lewisville Texas just a couple miles from Buddy Gregg, he has gone to bat for me and hit home runs.

I'm having trouble with my LR slide and suspect the sync cylinder and or one of the pressure switches mounted on it so I have been staring at it a long time. Its hard to believe that a competent mechanic couldn't swap it out in 2 hours, however I don't know whats involved in bleeding the system. I think a call to HWH is in order.

Call HWH in Moscow, Iowa. Its their system. You could call Chris Snyder, or Eric Olstrum in Tucson, Ed Read at Oregon Motor Coach or the factory in Junction City Oregon. Check the CC I web site for phone numbers.

Hi Gary, I replaced the sync cylinder in my 03 Intrigue about 2 years ago. It took me about 4 hours, in addition to replacing the cylinder, you also have to purge the other cylinders that are associated with it. On my coach there were two cylinders that extended and retracted the kitchen slide. You have to disconnect the cylinders and operate the system to purge any air that may have entered while the sync cylinder was being replaced. I your case there may be 4 cylinders since you have 2 slides in the front (2 cylinders each). Im pretty sure I put the procedures for replacing the sync cylinder in the files section of the web site.

Gary, we work on many slides at the shop as you can see by the pictures we can take rooms out less then 3hours so replacing a sync cylinder should not take not take all day. If you need any help give us a call.
