Tire pressure/temperature monitoring

I would like to get input from all that have had one of the following tire pressure systems installed, and what their recommendations are.
Since Smartire does not support the RV industry anymore, they are out. That leaves TST, Pressure Pro and Tire Safeguard, unless I missed somebody.
TST seems economical, but the screw-on-the-end-of-the-valve stem approach bothers me. Too easy to have them stolen
The system that most impresses me is Tire Safeguard, just reading the stuff on the web. You can get the one mounted to the rim, like Smartire was.

Anybody want to chime in?

Have you researched the problem? From what I understand Smart Tire is still in business and catering to the trucking industry. That would require the same equipment your looking for. I have Smart Tire integrated into my 07 Magna and I am very pleased.

I sent an email to Smartire and they replied with a curt message stating they would not be supporting the RVs anymore. Period. Would not even answer my few questions. So I say to hell with them. I don't want to buy something from someone with that attitude, even if it is still available. If I have problems, I want to be able to get support, and you can't with Bendix now in control.

This thread hit at an opportune time, we are replacing 4 drive tires and have smart tire installed. We are rethinking our valve stem/temperature sensing approach. On our present SmartTire we use the standard short valve stems and an air chuck and pressure gauge with a straight air connection. Use self sealing valve caps on the inner duals. We like that valve stem approach, my valve extenders leaked and I worry about damage to the longer valve stems.
Looks like we will go with the TireSafeGuard, use the sensors with "through valve fill" on the inside duals and regular sensor on all the others (may modify this after giving it some more thought).
Liked the temperature feature on the SmartTire. Will look at using the "Ideal Gas Law" and calculate the tire pressure increase due to a "High Temperature Problem". PV=NkT (Need to give this some thought too!!)
Found out they were no longer making SmartTire and when they were available they were 2X most of the others+added mounting expense. The one we had worked for 10 years, had only one issue with it, may have solved it on the newer ones.

It's PV=nRT.

Since V, n, R are constant all you need is P/T = P'/T'

It is roughly 1.8 PSI per each 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

I forgot, T has to be in Kelvin. Pressure can be any unit. Really its only a simple proportion, but Kelvin is a must.

I am chiming in.

I have the pressure pro system and much like the TST system, Actually I think I should have got the TST system since the monitor looks like it has more information on it and better layout. The sensor caps can unscrew pretty easy on either one.
I would like to think that the only person that would steal them would be some 'poor' person driving another class A that could use them more than me. (Glass half full attitude) But I could be wrong and it could be some deranged entrepreneur who has an eBay account.
Just looked at the Tire safeguard system you refer to. Looks like the Smart tire system (which I am also still running in my rims since they still work after 7 years and 28,000 miles. I like what I saw on the web site.
I will not be convinced on any of these systems will last a lifetime until you give me the green light that their service department will pass the Al Colby 'seal of approval' otherwise known as the "you're going to hell if you don't service your product 6 years down the road". :)

The Pressure pro also has a nut that tightens up to the back of the sensor but I can still unscrew the sensor without loosening the lock nut. It would be pretty easy to take a pair of pliers wrapped in a cloth to undo the sensor without damaging it if your hand could not undue it. I think the lock nut is to keep the sensor from working loose and causing the sensor to release air from the valve stem.
It takes me less than 3 minutes to pull all the sensors from 8 tires and take the backing nut off without lossening the backing nut. That is why I remove them when I am parking the rig for some time.

That is correct.

I have the TST monitors and they have a wrench/key that is needed to install or remove the sensors.

Not high security, but may slow down a casual thief.

I bought my system from Pressure Pro direct (Costco now has the basic kit on line for a little less money-surprise). Pressure Pro did not advise me to buy the locking system stating that theft has not been an issue. I have had mine on for 3 years without any issues. I do take them off my toad when not traveling and off my coach when I am going to be in the same place for a week or two. This also saves on the battery life.

Any opinions on the TireMinder system. It is being sold at Camping World. It has a really ugly suction cup mount for the display, but it seems to be very portable, so you can reconfigure it to use in the toad when you park your rig.

I have the Smart Tire system that I read on my Silverleaf monitor and I would like to add pressure monitoring for the toad. I am told by Silverleaf the only way to do this would be to install Smart Tire monitors inside the tires on my Jeep.
Does anyone know if the valve cap systems mentioned in previous posts can be read by the Silverleaf?

My Silverleaf CL240 reads and displays the pressure pro I had installed as my SmarTire batteries started to fail. I had the Pressure Pro installed at the Myrtle Beach rally last autumn. I like it as I now monitor the car in addition to the coach.
