Coolant reservior

I know this has been asked before but I need some reassurance!!!! :)
On our coach we have the black metal coolant tank. (Always has good level in it). Then we had a white plastic over flow tank. As much as I try to keep some coolant in the white plastic tank it always disappears. Where to?
Was the white coolant tank a CC installation or an after market installation?
With summer coming up I just need some comfort in knowing if I should be worried. Temp is always ok so where does the coolant go?

That white overflow tank was a CC part, not an add on. Mine usually stays dry and I don't worry about it. Just keep the coolant to where you cn see it in the sight glass on the big tank.

Hi--We own '01 Intrigue #11238 and it does not have an overflow tank; only the black tank with the pressure cap. ISC 350.

These plastic tanks are cheap. I had to replace mine because it had a very slow leak. The tank was worn where the mounting cage grabbed it. I too always wondered where the coolant was going. Now I know.
This was a CC installed tank. Pick up another cheap one at an auto parts store.

On our '02 Intrigue the plastic overflow tank kept drying up and I finally discovered a small leak in the tank. Once I replaced the plastic tank it has remained "wet" ever since. As mentioned by someone else, it's an inexpensive replacement and I would recommend giving that a try.

The white tank is an overflow tank fed by the hose attached to the neck of the filler pipe with the pressure cap. It only comes into play when the main tank is pretty full, the engine is hot and the coolant expands sufficiently to cause some of it to overflow into the overflow reservoir. Then when the engine cools the fluid should flow back to to the main tank. Unfortunately, as others have noted, it's a common place to develop a leak - either from the plastic overflow tank or the rubber tube that connects it to the filler pipe of the main tank. It's probably better to just add fluid toe the main tank after removing the pressure cap so that the level comes just into the sight glass which can be really hard to see unless you get the lighting just right. Don't over fill.
