99 Allure wire route

Yahoo Message Number: 70695
Hi everyone, I am attempting to install a tri-metric 2025rv battery monitor in my Allure. The tri-metric needs to be installed in a convenient location in order to monitor power consumption of appliances and general loads on the electrical system. I plan to install it on the wall near to the dining table. A 500amp shunt must be located in the battery compartment connected to the negative coach battery connection. My problem is in finding a wire route to install a 5 wire 16gauge cable to connect the shunt and +12v power to the display. I have removed the center panels in the basement compartment and that allows access to the cable, plumbing and heater lines but although i can get to the bay just in front of the rear axle I cannot get through the bulkhead in front of the rear axle and airbrake dryer. I am using a metal snake and the bulkhead with wire and cables seems to be sealed around the existing wiring. I spent most of the weekend trying to install this wire and hope that someone has some advice on how to route wiring to the right rear battery/breaker compartment. An alternate route is acceptable, but my wife nixed running the wires out the window. Thanks in advance David White 1999 Allure 30349

Look at the wheel well. Look to see if there is a recess grove just inside the outer panel that follows the curve of the well well. There is on our 97 Magna. Used it to run a wire for temp sensor to the batteries. Stick the wire in the groove and use silicone or some such thing to seal over it.

Another thought. Can you use the battery cables in the main electrical bay up front? Much easier to get to and use.
