Boost Solenoid -Location

There may be variations but I believe the typical location for the battery boost solenoid is in the inverter compartment which, in turn, forms the upper back part of the battery compartment.

This compartment has an easily removed inspection panel held by two wing nuts so you can see your inverter and its reset buttons, etc. Unfortunately, although you might be able to spot the boost solenoid through this inspection panel you can't really get a good look at it or work on it so you need to take the whole panel in which the inspection panel is mounted off. This isn't too hard to do since it's held on by about 10 3/8" metal screws around the edges. cover the batteries with something so you can't drop any screws or the panel on them when you remove it and/or disconnect all the ground terminals. It's not a real handy place to work.

On my coach the solenoid is mounted on the back wall of this inverter compartment toward the read of the coach, relative to the inverter - a small barrel shaped gizmo, part of the relay, with two large terminals. On my coach the terminal on the left (toward the rear of the coach) is the one that's connected to the start battery, alternator and starter with large cables. The terminal on the right goes to the house bank with slightly smaller diameter cables. Better check your wiring diagram to be sure I've got the connections right. I'm sure the larger cables are related to the start battery, etc. In my coach the "echo charger" is mounted on the roof of the compartment toward the passenger side relative to the solenoid. and the echo charger leads also go to the two sides of the boost solenoid/relay and ground. The solid red (input) is supposed to go to the house bank side and the striped (red/yellow output) to the start battery side.
