Unusual Water Problems

Hello....I'm having a problem with all of a sudden, I cannot get anything but a few drips of water from the kitchen and shower faucets. The vanity faucets, icemaker, toilet, and washer are okay. I have taken off the faucet/showerhead to see if they were clogged but they were okay. Everything was working fine less than a week ago. I even tried to get water from the tank rather than city fill, but no change. Does anyone know if there is a check valve somewhere that may have gone bad? Would this check valve have controlled the water flow for these two faucets? If so, any ideas where it would be and how we would get to it.

Any other ideas as to what is going on here? Thanks.

Have you changed the house filter. They can plug very quickly.

Yes, tried that...no problem there....great pressure from other working faucets...just a mystery that it's two faucets....all of a sudden. Thanks.

Any noted difference between cold vs hot? Two different lines, so would suspect one would be different then the other? If not, then I would look at both of the actual single handle valves (assume these are both single handle in the Inspire?) You might have some hard water build up in the valves. Perhaps a soacking in CLR?
(All speculation. Let's see what those with more experience say. I'll follow to learn:)!)

Good luck,

Check the outside shower faucets and make sure they are off. The outside shower HEAD on/off valve could be off while the faucet is on which for some strange reason, causes similar symptoms.

Hi Barb, Have you unscrewed the faucet aerators and cleaned the screens? Mine have a tendency to plug occasionally and display the symptoms you describe.

Thanks everyone for your replies....once my husband was back and able to dig into the problem, he found that it was the restrictors on both of the faucets. For some reason, they were both plugged. He removed them and the showerhead and faucet work great now. Hard to believe that they would both have problems at the same time....really threw us off, but that's what it was.
Appreciate all the tips....will keep those in mind for another time. Thanks.
