Didn't get to e-bay, the link might be wrong. Yes, the National Islander is on a DynoMax chassis. It is not the same one as on a CC but it is close. There are some holes cut thru the rails for the slide mechanics, it uses jacks for leveling, and has smaller tires.
National is also putting a model of the Tradewinds on a DynoMax chassis. It is kind of interesting to listen to salespeople tell potential buyers that the National products are the same as a Country Coach. The center emblem in the National DynoMax chassis units have the Country Coach logo. I do wish they would change that.

Just looked at the "Country Coach by National" on e-bay. He is hyping a National Islander as a Country Coach. Wait till some unlucky buyer finds out he really doesn't have a CC.

You can look at an Islander and draw your own conclusions regarding quality. I doubt that the resale is the same. Your can check the NADA web site if you like.

CC builds the chassis and sends them to National in California. There was a plan for a while whereby CC would use National chassis to build coaches, possibly even gas. With the latest issue of the CC magazine they seem to be raising the specter of a gasser again.

It is another example of corporate ineptness. National bought CC to get a hi-line coach, but cannot reach the same profit levels enjoyed on cheaper coaches, so now they are going to bastardize the line (the Inspire is a start, and if past is prologue --- get their balance sheet even more screwed up.

DUH!!! You cannot build a quality coach with the same labor coasts as one slammed through an assembly line. I really think that the Intrigue with tag axle, CAT power and a triple slide is a prodcut of despertaion. I suspect they keep slapping more and more tricked up features on coaches (tag axle Allure?) because the new features are marked up much more than the basic coach, allowing for more profit.

Where is the differentiation between Allure, Intrigue, Magna, and Affinity?

I agree with your assessment.. I was at JC in May and saw the new Inspire, small tires, hydraulic jacks and frame rails sticking out below the slides.. Hmm, might have been an Islander..LOL

Remember the short lived Mystique? That was a National Tradewinds that was built on a Freightliner chassis in Perris, CA and brought up to JC for paint and the CC logo. There were two stories about why they didn't produce more than 40 of them. One was a legal issue and the other that National didn't have time to build them anymore.I suspect it was the legal issue Anyway, the National factory took about 35-38 of them back and relabeled them "Founders Editions" . So, somewhere there are a couple of the Country Coach Mystiques out there. The Inspire looks on the outside, like a National Tradewinds. The Inspire is a shot at getting into the lower priced market. Seems to me, people might just want something like Bob Lee started with in the first place, a nice high line class c. I have seen some on the road and they still look great.
