2004 Intrigue axel ratings

Yahoo Message Number: 72164
I am buying a 2004 Intrigue Ovation in the nex few days that needs a new set of tires. It came from the factory with 12R22.5 Toyos on all 3 axles.
I can not find GVWR ratings for each axle in the coach, just the one for the entire vehicle - 45,200. I'm concerned that the 12R22.5 might not be the right size for the steer tires. Does anyone have the individual axle rating for this coach. I sure do not want to overload the front tires.

Les,

I have the same coach. Placard next to the drivers seat below the transmission selector says the following: Front 14,200 lbs
Drives 20,000 lbs
Tag (rear) 11,000 lbs

GVWR 45,200

12Rx 22.5 tires on all axels.

Each tire will handle upwards of 6,800 lbs if inflated to 120.
Make sure you have steer tires on the front wheels (thicker walls for lateral strength when turning) and you can put drive or steer tires on the two rear axels.
Best way to check the weight really quick and for free is pull over to one of those truck wieght scales on the side of the freeway when they are closed and weight each axel and individual tire . Do this by going half way on the scale with each axel and then all the way on the scale with each axel. Do some quick math and you can figure out how much weight on each axel.
Tire manufactures will give you the proper inflation number for each tire (same for each tire on same axel) given the wieght you carry. Take into account fuel/ water and other cargo.
I was running 120lbs in each tire as the placard called for but I was definately not running with a full load of cargo so when I went by the tire manufactures recommendation my ride got alot smoother. I am running between 110 for the drive axel and 115 for the rag and fronts on michelins. Still have the original toyos on the tags and they still look good. Thinking about changing them next year though because those big tires make a mess out of your wheel well if they blow.
I have tire monitors on every tire so I have peace of mind that if some tire is going to go, I have a some indication that heat or pressure is not right.

You might find a detailed weight sheet from the factory with the documentation that came with it. Ours had it which showed the weight at each wheel.
