Bus Kote questions

Yahoo Message Number: 72242
1. Is it ok to apply the primer and coating to the satellite receiver cables I have running on my roof?
2. I plan to paint the shower skylight but was wondering what the general recommendation is for the fantastic fan skylights. I have the fan vents covered with Maxairs which I have removed for the Bus Kote application process. Seems to me, painting the fan skylights would only add some insulation and with the Maxair covers the decreased sun light probably would not matter. Opinions please.

3. Kent Buddish who sold me the Bus Kote did not seem to think that the sealer made much practical difference and did not push it. Said it would give you a harder finish if that is what you desire. I did not buy any sealer. Comments please.

4. Someone on here put one coat of Bus Kote on the shower skylight and said it worked well. Shouldn't it painted with primer first?

Thanks for your time

Hi Bob -

We did the Bus-Kote thing about a month ago, made a BIG difference, we love it.

To your questions -
1. Yes we covered the cables and all with one coat of primer two of Bus-Kote and one clear. I have a gallon of clear in the basement we may apply later.

2. We did not paint the vent covers or shower skylight, if we did we would have used the base primer on them. If I had Maxairs I would paint them.

3. Ask me in 3 years, just seemed like a good thing to do while doing the job.

4. Yes.

No all we need is some real summer weather to complete the test.
