Yes, there was a recall on the ABS system ( early 2001 just a guess on date) and one of the things done was adding the blink switch. If you have no dash messages for ABS all is good.

Oh, forgot to add, mark the switch for normal position. Just in case someone moves it by accident.

What is the switch for?

The switch is for testing the ABS and will give certain "blink codes" for various ABS faults. To enter the test, hold the switch down for one second and you will see a series of blinks inside the switch, as it tests each wheel. I have to use this switch frequently to reset my ABS when I get and ABS light in the dash. Many time the ABS light warning light in the dash will go out after the test.

Isn't the switch spring loaded so it returns to the normal position?
Kevin sent me the codes for testing the system and he has offered them again. I'd advise to take him up on his offer. Nice guy, if you are ever in OR I recommend his services.

could be spring loaded ........but leaving it alone is also a good plan.
