Check Engine Light comes on when Engine Brake is used

Hey all,

We just picked up this '08 Inspire w/ISL.
The two times I've used the engine brake button, the CEL comes on. The engine brake (both more and less aggressive settings) seems to come on and work just fine, but the CEL displays on the dash, until I turn the EB off.
The first time I did it, I flipped the switch when I was in 3rd gear, going down to 2nd then 1st. After that, I read in the manual that it doesn't work, or isn't supposed to be used in 1st or 2nd gear, is that right?
The second time I used the EB, we were in 6th gear, doing 55 mph and just starting a descent on a grade, again, CEL came on, then goes away as soon as I turn the EB off.
Could this just be a stuck solenoid or something, or what? Any troubleshooting tips, or is this not even something I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance, really look forward to participating in this forum, great info thus far! -Luke

Luke, did you check to see if your ECM passed a Fault Code to your Silverleaf? Push the Diagnostic Button on the SilverLeaf to see.
