My wife retires next month and we will be able to spend Jan and Feb in Florida next year. Anybody have any good recommendations on RV places to stay?

TIA

We have a FHU paved lot for rent in this gated community here: http://willowlakes.com/ Or, there are other lots for rent too through the office. Includes cable TV and decent WIFI.

Bob,

We stayed in Florida for the first time this past winter. We stayed at the Deer Creek RV Resort and Golf park in Davenport, FL. The park is off hwy 27 south of I-24. This is between Tampa & Orlando. We rented from a private party from NJ. The park has several different sections and the Regal Point sections is all class A. The lots are large, most use pavers and some concrete. Great executive 18 hole golf course. Close to Disney, Tampa, and Daytona. We really had a great time and would go back again if we were to come back to Florida.
I have the name of the party we rented from and believe they are looking to rent both sites they own, There are several people who own 2 or more sites that rent directly as apposed through the office. Much cheaper. If you would like the name of the party we rented from, please contact me.

There are a bunch or great parks in FL. Depends upon what are your priorities. All the parks listed below are in southen FL. If you go north, you'll have a few more cool/cold days compared to southern parks. Some of the "high-end" RV parks that I've seen include;
River Bend, just east (10+/- miles) of Ft. Meyers is a very nice park, good sized lots around several ponds and on a river. It is a bit remote, but very quiet with a good social calendar . Pelican Lake RV Resort in Naples Fl. is a beautiful park with very large well landscaped lots--50x100' surrounding a big man-made lake. Very wide roads, very easy coach parking. While not cheap, it is one of the prettiest parks in America and has an active social calendar -- lots of parties, 2 upscale RV shows and they bring in several entertainers each season. It is located on 951, a few miles north of Marco Island and convenient to everything in Naples.
Silver lakes is right next door to Pelican Lake. Their lots are smaller and placed around several small ponds...... and allow park models, They have a very active social calendar and they have a 9-hole exec. golf course.
On the east coast in a great park about an hour north of West Palm Beach. I believe that it is an OurDoor Resorts park, located in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Very well landscaped lots, just a bit smaller than Pelican Lake. I don't know anything about their seasonal activities.

We prefer Pelican Lake.

Good luck. Den 2001 Affinity #5972

Bob,

Florida has a wonderful state park system. You could spend the entire two months staying in a variety of parks. You can make site specific reservations online. Go to floridastateparks.org for all the information.

One of the nicest RV resorts in the country is Pelican Lake - Naples/Marco Island.
