04 Carefree Main Awning - Hear sound of power, but will not open

Yahoo Message Number: 74509
This is the pre Eclipse change, main motorized awning. Last used over a year ago. Push the Extend button, hear electric connector type sounds from the motor awning area, but no cigar on opening.
I did have the coach paint looked over by a 'professional' to see if deep swirl scratches in the darker paint pigments could be buffed out safely. Went inside to do some work, came back out to find the 'gent' power washing the coach. He had just worked his way down past the awning area from the top of the roof pointing down. (I say 'gent', because the RV had road grime and dirt, and he was power washing this into the paint, causing as much damage as he was their to repair.)
So, thinking back about that, could water have been powered into the motor area by this power washing? If so, what now? I have never removed the end cap, any advice on what to look for. I read on another post about tapping the motor while someone is in pushing the extend button, to see if this will shake loose the bushings, or relays. Can try this. But, was also wondering if a reset button or breaker may exist somewhere that I don't know about.

Thanks for any pearls of wisdom,
Smitty

(Note I posted a request yesterday that I deleted, as I wanted to do more searches first. Found some info, but nothing concrete.)

I found out this is the Mirage unit, if the paper work I found is correct.
So I now have found some diagrams online, and determined it will be a job best left for the home base, with my normal tools and big ladder available.
Replacement motor of $1200, is this for real? Or, was this someone just posting a on the internet to scare me:)!

We'll see what it is when we can get it apart and take a look.
Still welcome more input from those with experience on the Mirage awning motor and control problems. Have appreciated the PM's so far...

Best,
Smitty
