Ice Maker line

The proud owner of a 2003 32' Intrigue. Can anyone tell me about the routing of the ice maker line? I followed it down from the frig, goes towards the front behind the slide mechanism, turns towards the center, and goes down through the floor. I pulled the cover panel in the basement to continue, and cannot find it. My concern is that it is exposed to the outside air without the means of isolating it with a separate shutoff. We are in Montana and use it during cold weather. I am not concerned about everything else in the basement, but the water line to the frig concedrns me. Any Help? thanks, Jim in Bigfork, Mt

Can't speak for your Intrigue but my Inspire has a shutoff under the fridge, behind the drawers.

I need to clarify. Yes, I have a shutoff behind the frige. But the PEX water line comes thru the bottom and is in the frige compartment before the valve. I am concerned about it freezing and was looking for more information about installing a shutoff sooner to prevent water being all the way to the frige. Jim

My shut off is in the coach, not behind the fridge. If you shut it of, no water can get to the line that feeds the fridge.

Disconnect the water line and drain. If you need ice put a pan of water outside.

Could have had a little ice in the pan last night. What I am trying to accomplish is eliminating all together any water that goes to the passenger slide for the fridge. I was looking for hints on where that water line is coming from and how to access it and put a shutoff there.
Yes I know the standard winterizarion procedure for all motorhomes. Go SOUTH. But for me, not till January. Jim

After having our 2003 32' Intrigue for a few months, we are making our maiden voyage this week for warmer weather than here in Montana. I have search everywhere for a shutoff valve to the icemaker, but find none.
My concern is its suseptability to freezing. Seems very unprotected at the back of the frig next to the vents.
Has anyone ever had any problems? I am not concdrned about the rest of the coach with the heated basement, but the water line??? Thanks, Jim and Pattee in Bigfork, MT.

Jim & Pattee:

If there is not a shut valve in the exterior access of your fridge it will located under the fridge inside the coach, remove the drawers under the fridge and you should see a shut off valve.

That's a good place to put the shutoff valve under the fridge, however, the line should be removed, energize the valve and blow out the line through the valve. Yes the valve is heated but if you aren't plugged in, it will freeze and crack. Live and learn.

Kevin, I do not have a drawer under the fridge, only an access panel that has the LP sensor and the slide mechanism. I followed the 1/4" poly line going towards the front of the coach. It comes along the outside edge, into a brass 90, then adapts to the 1'2" braides hose, comes towards the center and drops down at the swivel point of the slide. No shutoff valve anywhere. Can I access those lines down in the basement? Pulling off the ceiling of the basement bay? There is another 1'2" line that appears to be going to the WM hookup, which I don't have. But that is inside the heated coach, doesn't worry me. But the exposed icemaker line behind the fridge, it's 9 here this morning. Thanks for any more input. Jim
