TAG REPAIR

Yahoo Message Number: 75001
After a 1000 mile trip the tag bolts were broken on the right side, the assembly moved to the rear, and ground the tread off the inside of the tire. I didn't catch the problem on my daily walk around before departure.
My dealer said I was darn lucky, because the assembly was about to depart the coach.
I suggest you visually check the bolts before departure.

Chuck, folks, this is report #5 of this problem, that I know of.
All 5 are on 2008 and later coaches. Any tag axle model is a possible failure. I'm told that CC changed the tag mount arm between 2007 and 2008 and that is the likely source of the problem. I will have a more complete report and pictures in 10-14 days.
To inspect, you look between the front edge of each tag tire and the mud flap at ride height or higher. There are four bolts per side. you can easily see 3, and feel for the fourth, which is out of sight. If they're loose its pretty obvious. This inspection takes about 1 minute per side.
I will also be sharing this information, with all pictures at the Tech Talk Seminar at the Country Coach International Rally in VA next Tuesday.

If anyone needs pictures right away, email me.

Chuck, would you help by giving us your Unit Number, I'm at a Country Coach Rally traveling with 2 friends that have 2008 Intrigues. We're going to inspect these 2 coaches today per Lee's inspection procedures.

Thanks, Mike 03 Allure 1st Ave. #30898

Hi Chuck

I feel your pain and relief that it was not worse. We are currently at Fountain RV in lakeland FL, seeing to repairs from a failed tag axle and a blown tire. 4 of the 6 bolts sheared off, 1 stretched, and 1 holding on! See the attached picture. Call for complete details.

I always raise my tag in tight turns. I watched the techs make tight turns at BG Knoxville, I could only think of the damage they were doing to the coaches, Iam going to check my bolts B4 my next trip. Bob '02 Magna 6028
